A family-run RV park in the Northwoods.

Grant Haven Campground is a family-run RV park and tent campground located in Wilton, Minnesota, just outside Bemidji. The grounds were built new in 2021 by owners Clayton and Meagan Johnson. Clayton is a welder by trade. Meagan is a registered nurse who manages the ICU and CCU at Sanford Bemidji. They broke ground in March of 2021 and opened the gates nine weeks later. Today the property serves campers in pop-ups, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A motorhomes up to 45 feet, along with tent campers looking for a quiet stay near the Northwoods. The campground is open 365 days a year for summer adventurers, fall hunters, winter snowmobilers, and spring anglers.

Built into Bemidji, Beltrami County, and the Northwoods.

Bemidji sits at the headwaters of the Mississippi River, surrounded by lakes, jack pine forests, and trail systems that have drawn travelers to north-central Minnesota for generations. Grant Haven is part of that local fabric. Meagan and Clayton are raising their daughters in Beltrami County, and they built the campground to be the kind of place a Northwoods Minnesota family would want to roll into. Clean, well-equipped, and right next to the trails and water that make this corner of the state worth driving to.

Downtown Bemidji is a short drive from the front gate, with shops, restaurants, lakeside events, and the Paul Bunyan and Babe statues. The campground is also within easy reach of Itasca State Park, the Mississippi Headwaters, Lake Bemidji State Park, Movil Maze Recreation Area, and the Wilton Connector ATV trails.

Common questions, cleanly answered.

  • Will my big rig fit? Pull-through sites comfortably handle rigs up to 45 feet with wide entry, level pads, and 50 amp service.
  • Are there full hookups at every site? Yes. Full electric, water, and sewer at every full-hookup pad.
  • Is the campground open year-round? Yes. Summer campers, fall hunters, winter snowmobilers, and spring anglers all use the grounds.
  • What about pets and kids? The campground is pet-friendly and family-friendly, with a playground and arcade on site.

  • What is nearby? ATV and side-by-side trails launch from the gate, and Itasca State Park, Lake Bemidji, and downtown Bemidji are all short drives away.

The Clubhouse: restaurant, bar, and indoor golf simulator.

The Grant Haven Clubhouse is the property’s signature on-site amenity, and it sets the campground apart from most Bemidji area RV parks. The Clubhouse houses the on-site restaurant and bar, an indoor 18-hole golf simulator, and a family arcade.

The kitchen serves wood-fired pizza, brewery fries, chicken strip baskets, and bar snacks seven days a week, with late-night hours on Friday and Saturday for guests coming off the trails. The bar features cold draft beer including a rotating selection from Bemidji Brewing Company. The golf simulator runs GSPro software with a Uneekor launch monitor, more than one thousand courses, and a fifteen by nine foot HD screen, and is open year-round for guests, leagues, and locals alike.

A modern campground for the modern Northwoods traveler.

A modern campground is more than parking pads. The Bemidji area sees travelers from across the Upper Midwest who want full-hookup comfort and useful amenities along with the Northwoods experience. Family campgrounds in particular need clean facilities, reliable power, dependable Wi-Fi, somewhere for kids to spend a rainy afternoon, and a host who can answer the phone and recommend a trail or a fishing lake by name.

Grant Haven was built to meet that bar. The 2021 construction means modern hookups end to end, and the on-site Clubhouse, restaurant, and golf simulator give guests a reason to stay an extra night even when the weather turns. The result is a Bemidji area RV park that works for weekend campers, hunting parties, and seasonal travelers alike.

How Grant Haven supports its online presence.

The Grant Haven website, branding, and digital marketing are produced and maintained by Minnesota Marketing, a Bemidji-based agency that helps locally owned Minnesota businesses build websites, run reservations and booking flows, and reach travelers planning Northwoods trips. Minnesota Marketing handles website design and hosting, search optimization, drone videography of the campground and surrounding lake country, ongoing marketing consultation, and routine site updates so the campground team can stay focused on guests rather than the back end of a website.
