Why Three Island Park Is a Local Favorite

Skip the crowds at the bigger state parks—Three Island County Park offers 560 acres of jack pine, tamarack bogs, and spring-fed lakes that stay mirror-calm for paddling. Day-use shelters, a sandy swimming area, and more than five miles of groomed trails make it a four-season gem without the tourist buses.

Door-to-Trail Directions (≈ 10 min / 6 mi)

  1. Exit Grant Haven Campground and head east on Spirit Ave NW.
  2. Turn left onto Cty Rd 15 / Irvine Ave NW.
  3. Drive 3 miles; watch for the brown Three Island Park sign on the right.
  4. Follow the paved park loop to the day-use parking near the beach.

Parking is free and gates stay open sunrise–sunset.
